First Vice President of the Republic and President of the Government of Southern Sudan Salva Kiir has affirmed that the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) has given the Sudanese people the chance to surpass the past and look towards the future. Addressing at the premises of the Sudanese Embassy in Beijing Friday the Arab and African Ambassadors accredited to China, Kiir said the peace agreement ended the longest civil war in Africa and that the peace protocols have settled the political, social and economic issues of Sudan. He called on the Arab and African states to contribute to development and rehabilitation in south Sudan.
