Vice President of the Republic and President of the Government of
Southern Sudan Salva Kiir has affirmed that the Comprehensive Peace
Agreement (CPA) has given the Sudanese people the chance to surpass
the past and look towards the future. Addressing at the premises of
the Sudanese Embassy in Beijing Friday the Arab and African
Ambassadors accredited to China, Kiir said the peace agreement ended
the longest civil war in Africa and that the peace protocols have
settled the political, social and economic issues of Sudan. He
called on the Arab and African states to contribute to development
and rehabilitation in south Sudan. The First Vice President briefed
the ambassadors on the outcome of his visit to China and
developments in Sudan.
